    Hi Girlfriend!
Sorry I didn’t get to talk to you last night before you departed. I left you a message wishing you a safe trip. I know this trip will fill you with much joy and satisfaction as you lend yourself to whatever task is at hand. How I envy your experience with the people of Guatamala.

Love you! Glad to hear you all and everything made it there safely. As I was eating dinner tonight (bean soup ala Ant Win) I wondered what you were eating. Have you given anyone any aprons yet? I have checked on your peeps via phone. I will make eye contact on the finger tomorrow. I sure hope Aunt Henie’s lips look good! We love you and are praying for you.

ditto to everything Henie said. Long hard hot day but so rewarding to get hugs from children and smiles from adults. Aprons tomorrow. Flip flops too.

She, please show Bill and tell Ian about this blog, karrie too. I miss the boys. When I see the little children playing in the dirt with sticks and no shoes, I think of all we have at home, it saddens my heart.

Terry M, we have been thinking about you, praying too. YOU WILL BE HERE SOON, count on it.

Terrie W, thanks for the good wishes. I did not return your call Monday night, when I get home I will share the excitement with you.

Thanks all sisters and bro in laws for love and good thots and all the prayers from friends and co workers.

Just want you to know, SCHREUDER MEMORIES ARE BEING CREATED, most not by me or Nanno.

Well, time for bible and worship time. Good night. Tomorrow is sanding and nmore mudding and then stucco. Night

Hello loved ones and friends. Today started out quite chilly but soon turned hot. We were up at 5am, had breakfast and hit the dusty [literally] trail. It takes about 1 1/2 hours to get up to our village where we are building. Longer to come back due to traffic in the cities. A=Crazy!!

She, don’t worry about gmail account. Terry has ininerary and he plans on picking me up. Yeah, he will definately be coming here, God just did not have in mind for him to be here right now.

Today we finished sanding and drywalling our four homes. I am white and dusty. Then we stuccoed the outside of the four homes, that went fast.

After lunch, nummie rice and beans and veggies and HOMEMADE hot tortillas. Nanno and Henie ate crackers and peanut butter, can you beleive it?

The afternoon the females got to interact with the people in this very small village, we played games, gave out flip flops and aprons. It is fun to play with the children, they laugh so much. Both for the shower and for the food.

I just hope and pray that we are able to share our God with them that they may come to know him through our acts.

GoD bless you all, I love you. Marcia

  20. February 19, 2010 6:14 am

Good morning dear ones. 6:15 am, breakfast done, still a few minutes for devotions and then we hit the road again. I slept like a log for seven straight hours. Please pray today as we devote our homes to God that He will work in the hearts of these new proud home owners.

    Bill, where are you?

    Ian, where are you?

    Karrie where are you?

Terry, when you pick me up in Detroit, would you please bring the med suitcase back with you, it can go back to the store for next trip. I don’t know if anyone told you, but the one you have was the least important and the one you left behind was the very most important. Now was that a God thing or what?

Have a good day all, love and thanks for notes and prayers from home. marcia

    Hi Aunt Marcia :O)
I’m glad you are able to be in Guate again!!!
This might sound weird, but whenever I think of you I remember riding in the back of the van in Antigua and you told me you had a watch fetish. lol Ahhh I don’t know why I find that so funny. :)
Hope you are having a great and safe time!

  25. February 19, 2010 7:17 pm

    Hey Renee

We talk about you every day, you are missed. Eli is beautiful, your husband looks so nice. Nanno has nothing but good to say about you. It’s funny what we remember about each other, I remember your artistic talents, like as in a peacock. Thanks for writing and remembering us in prayers.

THE ANGELS ARE REJOYCING RIGHT NOW. God is so good. So many hearts were opened today and accepted Christ into their hearts. Our homes are finished, we prayed so much today and cried even more. The joy that is felt when someone accepts Christ into their hearts is like nothing else on this earth. The adults and children alike, we shared many tears of joy.

The next two days are medical clinics and Jesus movie night. They are very emotional and long days. I may not write the next two days, we do not get back until well after midnight. Tomorrow is 2 1/2 hours away, near the coast.

Ian, I am so excited for you, happy and proud. I knew you would get accepted tho, it was a given. Hey, I don’t remember what your class schedule is, but if you are available, maybe you could ride to Detroit with Terry next Tuesday. That would be neat if you could see and meet some team members. We will look rough, but happy to have served the Lord in His way and in His time.

Love to all of you, thanks for remembering me and our team in your prayers. Thanks also for remembering the Guatelalian people in your prayers, that the Holy Spirit may move into their hearts. Marcia

All is well in MI, no snow, 37 degrees…probably 45 degrees cooler than you, right? Henie, how sweet of you to make Frank his favorite cake before you left. He was so bored he went to Panera this morning. :o )
I pray that tomorrow will be another good day for you at the clinic and you’ll have safe travels there and back. May God bless all of you and all that you’re doing for Him. You are all in our prayers! Love, Ev

    wish you were here

  33. February 21, 2010 7:06 am

Today is Sunday, right? It is easy to loose track of days here.

We were late in getting back last night, went straight to bed. The village had around 60 families that went through the medical clinic. I stayed outside and played games, spoke as well as I could, painted many many finger nails and played more games. I ran alot and jumped alot and held lots of sweet dear precious children. Each time I touch someone or hold some one, I say a prayer for that persone for the Lord to work in their hearts.

After the Jesus movie, many accepted the Lord into their hearts, what an emotional thing to be a part of.

I miss all of you, can’t wait to see you. I will miss Bill too when he is not home when I get there. Sheilah too. Glad Chris is going to come home, I think about her a lot and pray her pain is less each day. Time for breakfast soon Love to each of you, marcia

I will do my best at the market Terry, never know what I may find.

Yes, Ethan can spend the night. I was wondering if he got anygreen cards this week.

SiSter Marshmellow, The miles you will be flying have already been prayed over. Blessings from your home town.

  39. February 22, 2010 8:07 am

Good Morning to Praise our Lord and Savior up here in the mountains and sunshine and complete peace and quiet. This is the last day we will be here, time has gone so fast. Hard to beleive it is time to leave already.

Yesterday was incredible. We traveled to a coastal village 2 2/2 hours away. It was over 100 degrees and very humid. The road we traveled started out being paved and then ended up a dirt trail with huge holes in it and large rocks. Our van bumper is pretty much a wreck but will be able to be pulled out. Nate was a good driver, it was intense for a while.

The people that lived in this abandoned plantation had been there 7 years. They were Mian Indians. Spanish speaking but had a clickey sound to their dialect.

The medical clinic saw close to 400 people. During the time of the clinic we played ball catching with the children and jumped rope and painted a zillion nails with nail polish, played soccer and colored and wrote with sidewalk chalk on the plantation.

The evening Jesus move started around 6 pm and ended with many people giving their lives to the Lord, welcoming Him, no, begging Him to come into their hearts. Lots of tears and much prayer.

Then loaded up and prayed for a safe drive home. I think it took close to 3 hours, but we arrived safely.

Opps, gotta go, breakfast will be ready soon. We got to sleep in today and need to leave soon to go shopping.

I love all of you so much and am thinking of Bill as he is traveling today to Arizona. Can’t wait to get home, this will probably be the last time I write.

Hope you’re having a good time today and enjoying your well-deserved break. Enjoy your sunshine and warmth while you can…28 degrees here and lots of snow. Very beautiful from inside the house! God’s beauty in a far different way from yours. I love you very much! God bless and keep you in His care! Ev

  41. February 22, 2010 10:02 am

We are almost ready to leave for our chicken dinner in Antigua and then the open air shopping market.

Thanks for all your prayers you are sending up to our Lord for safe travels. If it is in God’s plan, we will be home tomorow night and looking forward to a shower in my own shower with fresh water that contains no parasites. Yeah!!!!
